Premier Invitation Horse Sale is the biggest and best

The 2009 Ag-Grow Premier Invitation Horse Sale is the biggest and best sale of ridden horses in Central and Northern Australia.

A record entry of 121 ridden horses this year has placed the Sale fairly and squarely on the map of leading horse sale events in Australia.

The sale gets underway on Saturday, July 11with inspections and ridden workouts from 8:00am and the auction commencing at 10:00am.

Selling Agents Grant Daniel & Long, McCaffrey’s Australian Livestock Marketing and Ray White Studstock are thrilled with the support the Sale has received from recognised horse industry participants and with the very high standard of breeding, performance and potential of the horses they have committed to the sale catalogue.

The offering consists of 61 ridden mares and fillies, 58 ridden geldings and 2 ridden stallions/colts make up the offering.

“This year’s 25 percent growth in catalogue numbers certainly puts more pressure on the Sale,” said Tony Speer, manager Ray White Studstock.

“However the overall credentials of the sale offering is exceptional, by far the best we’ve ever put under the hammer, “We’re confident horse enthusiasts and prospective buyers from a wide area will recognise the outstanding opportunity this sale presents.”

With an obvious heavy weighting towards suitability for cattle work, the catalogue features proven campdraft winners, young prospects started on challenge training, to promising young horses given the basics to go forward to campdraft competition, well bred smart station Stockhorses, show ring and horse sport mounts, suitable, stylish types recommended for ladies and youths, quiet reliable mustering horse and pleasure mounts.

The catalogue contains 103 individual sires to have progeny in the sale including popular, proven and high profile stallions Warrenbri Romeo, Acres Destiny, Doc’s Bon Jovi, Freckles Fortyniner, Myall Springs Omar, Tassa Lena, Playboy Roy, Freckles Toyboy, Soda Bradman, Roxon, Lethal Lena, Kirkby’s Commando, Cardinal Spin, Kyabra Cattle Baron, Doc’s Zest, Doc’s Happy Return, Kirkby’s Stud Orion, Soda Oxley, Driscoll Serenity, Knights Jugaby, Warrenbri Abram, Kirkby’s Stud Officer, to mention a few.

With such a sizable offering selling agents are recommending that prospective buyers get to the Horse Sale complex early to ensure a good inspection of the lots.

“All horse’s pens will be clearly identified with their lot number and we will have stabling maps available for buyers so that they can easily find the lots they are particularly interested in,” Mr Speer said.

The continued growth of campdrafting and other horse sports across Queensland, and the desire of many station owners to acquire ready made, ‘good going’ Stockhorses with bred-in cattle working ability should provide strong support for the Ag Grow Horse Sale. “It’s a tremendous ridden horse selection, as good or better as you’ll find anywhere in Australia, and we have no hesitation in genuinely recommending it to all horse enthusiasts,” Mr Speer said.
